The reboot of Roseanne has been canceled.
ABC Entertainment has officially canceled the show following a racist comment Roseanne Barr tweeted out Tuesday morning regarding former Obama White House adviser Valerie Jarrett on Twitter.
The Tweet has now been deleted, but read "muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj."
"Roseanne's Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show," ABC's said in a statement.
Barr did apologize for the comment hours later, but it was too late.
I apologize to Valerie Jarrett and to all Americans. I am truly sorry for making a bad joke about her politics and her looks. I should have known better. Forgive me-my joke was in bad taste.— Roseanne Barr (@therealroseanne) May 29, 2018
The show has been canceled, following a tumultuous past few weeks in regards to Barr's behavior.
Wanda Sykes also announced this morning (before the show had been canceled) that she would not be returning to the show following Barr's tweet.
