Man Returns Book To Library Fifty Years Late!

Maybe he forgot or else he was a very SLOW reader! A library in Kentucky had a book returned to it that was 50 years overdue! The book, “The United States in World War I; The Story of General John J. Pershing and the American Expeditionary Forces,” was return to a Lexington library with a note of apology.

The note was signed by a “Dale H,” and was checked out of the library in 1968! The overdue fees are capped at $6.75, but would have been $2,700 without the cap!

The book was returned from a location in Georgia. The library took the return in stride by tweeting that “It’s never too late to return an overdue book.” However, The library didn’t say if the $6.75 was included with the note of apology!
