Restaurant Creates World's Longest Beef Sandwich!

Recently, a Chicago restaurant set a new world’s record for the longest beef sandwich, while at the same time, serving the city’s homeless population. Buona Beef gathered a group of volunteers to create the masterpiece at the Cornerstone Community Center in the Sheridan Park neighborhood of Chicago.

The restaurant cooked up 75 pounds of Italian beef, placed it on 109 feet of Turano bread, and topped it with sweet peppers! Yum! John Gill, Marketing Director for Buona Beef, said that the restaurant decided to break the record for the longest beef sandwich at the center to highlight Cornerstone’s outreach work with Chicago’s homeless population.

Andrew Winter, Chief Financial Officer for Cornerstone Community Center, was appreciative of the restaurant’s charity. “When you can’t go to a restaurant yourself, it’s pretty exciting to have someone bring the restaurant to you,” Winter said. Buona plans to seek certification for the world record soon.
