As the anticipation of Daft Punk's release of their long-awaited (and long overdue) album Random Access Memories nears just next month, you can't help but wonder what the duo is going to do to celebrate their great return. Well, according to an Australian newspaper, it may not be how you might imagine.

An Australian newspaper called The Courier, is reporting that Daft Punk has chosen the small town of Wee Waa in Australia as the grounds to launch their new record. According to the paper, Narrabri Shire Mayor, Conrad Bolton, received a phone call from Sony Music, asking about the facilities. The paper also cites that executives from Sony Music toured the space and that the launch will take place "on the night of May 17, and streamed online to an international audience."

Could this be true? Since the first whisper of Daft Punk's comeback album, there have been a number of rumors surrounding the upcoming release, and the French duo.

If this is true, May 17th is just around the corner! We'll wait for the official word from Guy and Thomas.
